The Allegheny Intermediate Unit and the Center for Creativity celebrate the 2014 Champions of Change in education.  Educators from 19 area school districts and one local charter school are represented in the group of 64 being honored this year.  Schools and districts were asked to nominate educators who demonstrated that they: blended learning as a way to make classroom connections and sustain learning, modeled professional development and learning as a motivator to challenge their practice and collaborate with global society, or employed maker movement ideas through innovation and emerging trends while tinkering with technology to enhance digital learning.

The honorees were invited to the Allegheny Intermediate Unit in Homestead, Pennsylvania for a luncheon and recognition ceremony.  Each “Champion of Change” received an award certificate as well as the accolades of the assembled group of nominees and their sponsors.  The McGuffey/Sullivan room buzzed with the energy of all those regional connectED educators in one room!
