The Camp Invention program is a week-long summer enrichment program that has partnered with Plum Borough School District to reinforce the traditional school year with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) concepts through inquiry-based, hands-on engagement. Hosted at Center Elementary School, 100 student innovators are working through 5 different modules daily. Students are taking apart electronics to use the pieces to construct a videogame maze, tinkering with circuits to create new inventions and learning about past inventors and using their inventions as inspiration and motivation to create their own products. Whether students are using teamwork and cooperation in games that promote 21st century thinking and movement or building a waterproof vehicle that will keep their team dry through an ultimate wet obstacle course, Plum Borough students are challenged daily plan and develop prototypes of their own ingenuity.
