A highlight of this year’s celebration of ConnectED Educator Month was the first ever, ConnectED Educator Virtual Bus Tour! The Center for Creativity set out on an exciting adventure to virtually “tour” area schools and districts who are demonstrating the US Department of Education’s “Future Ready” initiative. Participants from around the region joined the virtual tour to visit these leading-edge districts who are employing student personalized, digital learning initiatives in their schools. The tour was just a small sampling of the many districts and schools that are using 21st Century technology and tools to engage students in learning. The virtual tour included a “trip” to:
Cornell High School – Visiting Rachel McVeagh’s Spanish classroom
Hampton Township School District – Recognizing the district’s culture of digital learning and connectivity and high quality resources
Fox Chapel Area School District – Celebrating Dorseyville Middle School being designated a Common Sense Media Certified School and the Creativity and Literacy Program in their Pre-K and Primary Program.
Plum Borough School District - Stopping in to see Jason Steele’s Technology Education classroom
McKeesport Area School District – Checking out the SMALLab that uses full-body, kinesthetic, interactive platform to engage students in STEAM concepts

Brain Stamford of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit invites attendees to “get on the bus” of innovation!
