A group of this year’s Leadership Pittsburgh cohort visited transformED to learn about the exciting ways that STEAM learning is being incorporated into area schools. Welcomed by Rosanne Javorsky, Assistant Executive Director of the Allegheny Intermediate Unit (Teaching and Learning), the participants were oriented to the workings of the AIU and its Center for Creativity before engaging in an afternoon of exposure to the transformative practices being utilized in regional schools. Those practices, made possible in part by STEAM Grants awarded annually through the AIU, were demonstrated to the Leadership Pittsburgh participants by the students and faculty of the Elizabeth Forward School District, the Cornell School District and team members of the Center for Creativity.
